       Awareness Programme:

The Association devised certain programmes for creating awareness among drug addicts and general populace to make them aware about the ill effects and devastating consequences of the addiction. These include –

Prevention of drug abuse :-

The development of science technology, networking and social media have transformed the individual and the society alive. The life style has been changed with decline of established morals and moral values. Social institutions responsible for the stability of the society, such as marriage and family are losing their utility and functional contribution to the peace, solace and tranquility in individual and social life. This situation arises due to the increasing interest in the use of alcoholic and narcotic substances.

Amid these behavioural patterns it is incumbent to prevent the drug abuse and develop attitudinal equipments against drug addiction particular at the early age. Therefore, ASHI organizes programmes against addiction in the community, primary schools, secondary schools, hostels, adolescents. It is the objective of ASHI to prevent youths from use and for abuse of drugs by making them aware about injurious and harmful effects on them.

Apart from preventive measures, ASHI also provides help to those who have been preyed by the use of narcotic drugs. They need treatment for addiction, rehabilitation and after care assistance. In the absence of proper information about the treatment centre, the ignorant youths may become victim of economic loss, physical harm, social respects and as such fall in the mental disorders

 

Therefore, the ASHI proper and correct information to such youths about the centre those provide rightful guidance, treatment and rehabilitation.

                  Treatment Programme:-.

Jagirti Drug De-addiction Centre provides indoor treatment at its centre. Services of medical doctor, psychologists, Social workers, Yoga therapists and spiritual leaders etc. are available for integrated approach for treatment. These specialists adopt techniques of individual counselling; group counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy/behavioural modification therapy, family assistance programme for the treatment of intoxicated persons.

                  Rehabilitation :

No doubt treatment of addicts is essential for a dignified life in social for abandoned persons, equally important is to make them suitable for his nears and dears, that is to say, rehabilitation is important factor of social defense. This is a process of readjustment with family, at work place, educational institutions, sport persons and society as a whole.
